Do you have a physical shop?
Our lab is out the back of 25 Easey Street, Collingwood and our front counter is at Paradise Alley Bar by appointment only. Please use the dropbox out the front to drop off film, and make an appointment online to collect your negatives.
Weren't you that self-service lab?
Yep! Open Lab was the world's first self-service photo lab—a concept we developed and tested for over 6 years. Unfortunately due to the building redevelopment described above, we've had to pause self-service access until we find a new home.
Are you a traditional photo lab now?
That's it—we essentially operate like any photo lab you've dropped film at before—with some added control on our order form.
How do I drop my film off?
Head to our 24/7 Dropbox at 25 Easey Street, Collingwood. Grab a job bag and write your name on it, then scan the QR code and complete our online order form. Place your film inside the job bag, then drop it in the shoot on the wall.
How do I collect my negatives?
If you've requested to have your negs sleeved, you'll receive a link with your photos to book a time to collect negs. Alternatively, we offer neg postage for $10.
How do I pay for my order?
Payment is made in the online order form, when you initially place an order.
How do I post film from interstate/overseas?
Complete the order form at the top of our website, input your address if you want negatives returned. Pack your film into a mailer and clearly label it with your name and number. Post it to 25 Easey Street, Collingwood VIC 3066 and let us take care of the rest.
Does it cost extra to customise my look / select my settings?
There's no extra cost involved, you just have to be ordering hi-res scans.
Do I need to customise my look / select my settings?
Nope, that part of the order form is entirely optional—feel free to let us do our thing.
Are there any prerequisite skills?
No prior skills are required to customize your look with order form—it’s super quick & easy!
