By using the services provided by Open Lab ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before submitting your film or using our website.

Open Lab offers professional film processing, scanning, and related services. Services are available by submitting film through our designated dropbox or by arrangement via mail.

All services are provided at the customer’s request and are subject to these Terms.

By submitting film to Open Lab, you confirm that:
 

• You are the legal owner of the film and images, or have permission to submit them.

• The film does not contain content that is unlawful, harmful, offensive, or infringing on third-party rights.

We treat every roll of film with care. However, due to the fragile and unique nature of film photography, Open Lab is not liable for:

• Film that is blank, under/overexposed, fogged, or otherwise damaged due to user error, camera malfunction, or film degradation.

• Loss or damage caused by issues outside our control, such as postal delays or third-party courier errors.

• Any indirect or consequential loss, including the sentimental or artistic value of lost images.

In the unlikely event of a processing error or loss that is directly caused by Open Lab, we may offer:

​

• A full refund of the service fee for the affected roll(s)

• A replacement roll of film (subject to availability)
   

Compensation is limited to the cost of the processing service. We are unable to compensate for the subjective value of images.

Estimated turnaround times are provided on our website and may vary depending on workload, technical issues, or unforeseen delays. We will do our best to meet these timelines, but they are not guaranteed.

Processed scans will be delivered digitally via email. We recommend downloading and backing up your files promptly, as links may expire after a certain period.

Scans may be removed from our systems after 30 days unless otherwise arranged. We do not offer long-term file storage unless by prior agreement.

Negatives can be collected from our location by booking an appointment here, or returned via post (postage fees apply). Unclaimed negatives may be securely stored for a month (unless prior agreement made), after which they may be responsibly disposed of if uncollected.

All prices are listed in AUD and include GST where applicable. Payment is required in full before completed work is delivered.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Any changes will be clearly communicated via our website.

Please refer to our Refund Policy for details. In general, due to the custom nature of our services, refunds are only offered in the event of errors or issues caused by us.

We do not claim ownership over your images. However, by submitting film to us, you grant us a limited right to handle and reproduce the images solely for the purpose of providing the requested services.

With your permission (via email or phone), we may request to feature your images for promotional purposes — but this will always be done with your consent.

Your privacy is important to us. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

By using our website, you agree not to:

• Engage in any unlawful activity or attempt to disrupt our services

• Copy or reuse content, branding, or images without permission
   

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone engaging in abusive, inappropriate, or unlawful behaviour.

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website, with the effective date listed at the top.
